This is a beta port of a beta version of deu 5.3. Sound scary? It should. Ok, the bad news first. The interface is NOT mac-like. This is almost a direct port. It doesn't behave like a mac program should, and doesn't use proper menus and windows. Any If you switch to another app, it will not redraw itself. You need to switch editing modes, or exit the top dialog box to get it to redraw. The menu titles don't work right. All the bugs in "readme.2nd". You can't read wads with spaces in them. These docs are terrible.
Now the good news: it works. You can now make levels for doom. (Save often) As far as I know, this is the only WAD editor for the mac, so think of this as a substitute for running Deu in SoftPC, instead of pointing out how bad it looks.
Since a PC mouse has three buttons, I needed to emulate that behavior. So:
modifier result
none left-click
command right-click
command+option middle-click
To get started:
•Change the "Main=" line in deu.ini to the path to your doom.wad or doom2.wad
•Mouse Scrolling doesn't work. Zoom in and out instead (+/-) or use pageup/down, home, and end
•Press F1 in the editor for help.
•Press escape to get out of things such as edit fields. Also will let you exit editing without saving.
